Admission Policy

Thank you very much for your interest in Beacon School. For the 2017 academic year, we are currently welcoming applications for certain grades in which openings are still available. For information regarding openings, please contact Márcia Turco, Assistant of Admissions, at 55 11 3201 2590 or admissions@beaconschool.com.br..

The admission process for the 2018 academic year commences March 6th, 2017. We will then begin to consider and assess applications for admission to all grade levels, in accordance with the following Admission Policy.

Beacon School will be a Pre-K through Grade 12 school, from Early Childhood Education up to High School. We are growing along with our students, adding a new grade level each year. As planned, in 2018 we will open Middle School’s Year 7 and the new Beacon School Campus, located in Vila Leopoldina.

We have planned for and have maintained gradual and consistent growth. This has allowed us to continue to guarantee the same excellent level of quality that Beacon School has offered since we first opened our doors in 2010.

In our admission process, we place a high value upon candidates from diverse cultural backgrounds. The international character of our student body is an essential element of our students’ education and development. Becoming familiar with a heterogeneous group offers our Brazilian students a unique opportunity to discover and learn about other cultures, while our international students benefit from an authentic Brazilian experience in a school which is diverse yet firmly rooted in Brazilian culture and traditions.

Children with special needs are welcome at Beacon, depending on the school’s capacity to address specific needs. In cases where a child requires a therapeutic attendant (“shadow”), the expenses are to be met by the family.

The admission process begins with a visit. We welcome families to come and tour the school facilities and discuss curriculum, expectations, and match. Parents interested in visiting the school may contact Marcia Turco, Assistant of Admissions, by phone (55 11 3201 2590) or by e-mail (admissions@beaconschool.com.br), to schedule a meeting according to the information below.

NEW PARENTS' MEETINGS FOR 2017 ARE CLOSED.

We follow the Brazilian academic calendar, with the school year beginning in January and ending in December.

As Beacon welcomes candidates from foreign backgrounds, including those coming from foreign schools which often follow a different academic calendar, we are open for enrollment throughout the year, in grade levels with openings available.

Beacon uses the calendar year as the basis for the cut-off dates at each grade level. The table below shows the age requirements (by birth year) for each grade level in the 2017, 2018 and 2019 academic years.

Group G2 of ECE: Beacon School welcomes toddlers with at least 16 (sixteen) months old by February 1st, 2018. It is also necessary the child be walking firmly to start school with us.

* Admission Process for these grade levels considers Priority List. Please see the criteria below.
