Beacon has an area dedicated to helping students make an autonomous and responsible choice of higher education and to supporting each student so that they are successful – the University and Career Counseling (UCC) area. Find out about some of the UCC initiatives:
We follow the profile, interests, and career path of our students, analyzing potential career paths. Through Social Emotional Learning | Life Project classes, our students develop self-knowledge and reflect on their future.
We advise students on applying to higher education institutions in Brazil and around the world. Our graduates can choose from a number of different routes to university: take the entrance exam, enter via ENEM, use their IB score, access universities with their SAT score or through national and international olympiads. We offer support in filling in applications to apply abroad.
Every year, we hold University Day (U-Day), an event in which representatives from foreign and national higher education institutions visit our campus to present their programs and answer questions from students and their families about the admissions process and university life. We also receive individual visits from Brazilian and international universities throughout the academic year.
Held annually, Career Day brings professionals from a wide range of careers and fields to present their career paths to Beacon students, providing an opportunity to reflect on potential career paths.
Students have the opportunity to experience the working environment in companies and institutions from different segments during school recess periods. This experience provides students with the resources to better define the profession they wish to pursue.
We provide guidelines on how to apply for international and Brazilian vacation programs in which high school students have the opportunity to experience university life and develop skills for a proper transition to higher education.
We run SAT mock exams, whose score is a benchmark in admissions processes at foreign universities – especially in the United States – and specific institutions in Brazil. We also run mock exams for Universidade de São Paulo (Fuvest) and the National High School Exam (ENEM).
During the third year of high school, Beacon students have the option of taking a course during the school day. This is an opportunity for those who intend to attend higher education in Brazil. Our partner is Intergraus, located near Campus and specialized in preparing candidates for competitive exams such as those at USP, Unicamp, PUC, FGV, Insper, various medical schools, among other courses.
