Beacon invited parents to participate in the Optional Activities end of year celebration.
Students from G2 to Y8 enrolled in the Optional Activities and their teachers, prepared a presentation of the courses and programs offered by the school. Besides getting to know more about the work developed in every Optional Activity, parents got actively involved in what was proposed during the Festival.
Among the offered Optional Activities, Capoeira, Sports School, Adventure Sports, Soccer, Judo, Nutri Lab, Cooking, Mindfulness Yoga, and Tech Lab were also addressed in the event.
Open workshops developed by Beacon partners were also performed during the day. Responsible for the Optional Activity “Tech Lab”, MundoMaker is a school of innovation and technology which provides experiences that activate creativity and entrepreneurship. An experimental space where doing with your own hands is the vector that arouses interest, research, reflection, and learning. During the event, the workshop offered a circuit of interactive activities involving Technology, Programming, Electrical, Electronics and Digital Fabrication tools.
In addition, the Math school that will start its partnership with Beacon in 2020, has the mission of stimulating the love for Mathematics in an interesting, creative and unique way. The program focuses on investigative activities of various kinds and encourages the exchange of ideas among children. It also develops logical thinking and problem solving skills. The workshop offered some activities and games for parents and students to learn more about this work.
